After graduating as a Psychology major at the end of summer 2023, Sadie is pursuing her career goals in the psychology field by working as an ABA therapist with 2-6 year olds on the autism spectrum.

German tutor Alex graduated May 2023 with a B.A. in German. Alex is now living in Rostock, Germany. She works at Stadtteil- und Begegnungszentrum Südstadt/Biestow, a community and youth center tied with the local government of Rostock.

Italian tutor Valentina graduated in 2019 with a B.A. in Criminology, Law, and Justice. She is now a J.D. candidate at the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and a Legal Intern at the Donald Pritzker Entrepreneurship Law Center.

German tutor Paola graduated with a BS in computer science in May 2022. She is now working as an Analyst/Software Engineer at Northern Trust in Chicago.

Samie earned her BA with a Major in Chemistry and a minor in Spanish in 2022. She is currently working at Lurie Children’s Hospital with plans to apply to medical school in the near future. Her experiences at Lurie Children’s Hospital really helped her see how her Spanish skills will be useful as a doctor.

Ariana Antonelli graduated with a B.A. in English and minors in Italian and Spanish in 2020. After spending a year teaching English in Madrid, she is completing a master’s degree in Linguistics at the University of Siena, in Siena, Italy.

In Spring 2022, Ley earned a BA in English with double minors in French and Management Information Systems. Here’s what they had to say about their upcoming plans: “…I’m graduating this semester and heading to grad school. I’ll be getting my masters in Library and Information Science at UIUC.”

German tutor Lily earned her BS in Biological Sciences in 2020 and subsequently her MA in Germanic Studies in 2022 at UIC. While working on her MA, Lily taught for the German Basic Language Program and worked at the LCLC. She is currently an academic advisor in the College of Business at UIC.

French tutor Laurie graduated with a BS in Biological Sciences in December 2021, and was accepted to the UIC French and Francophone Studies MA program for Fall 2022.

After graduating as a Teaching of Spanish major in May 2022, Spanish tutor Valeria began work as a Spanish teacher at Romeoville High School in Romeoville, Illinois.

Jazmin earned her BA in French and Francophone studies in 2021, after which she started nursing school at Loyola University.

French tutor Susy completed her BA in Teaching of French in May 2022, after which she moved to France to teach English on the TAPIF program funded by the French government.

After finishing her undergraduate study at UIC in 2020, Kelsi went on to earn an MA from UIC’s Germanic Studies department in 2022, teaching for the German Basic Language Program and working as an RA with the LCLC. She is now a PhD student in German at the University of Michigan.

French tutor Crystal finished both a BA and MA in French from UIC in May 2022.

Rodrigo earned his BA in History in 2022 and now plans to earn a certification for teaching history.

Emma completed a BA in Germanic Studies with an Art History minor in December 2022, after which she joined the UIC Germanic Studies MA program in January 2023.

Spanish tutor Alison was a double major in psychology and Spanish with a concentration in Hispanic linguistics. She graduated in May 2022, and is planning to pursue a Master’s degree in speech pathology.

German tutor Evan completed a BA in Sociology in 2020, after which he entered the Germanic Studies MA program in 2022. Currently, he is working at CATE and planning an IT career in learning technology/Ed tech solutions

After graduating from UIC in Fall 2020 as a double major in Psychology and Sociology, Anye went on to graduate school at UIC’s Jane Addams School of Social Work, graduating with an MSW in Spring 2023. He is now a clinical social worker in the Chicago area.
