Ciao! I am a Junior majoring in Biomedical Engineering with an Italian Minor and a Neural Concentration. As a native Italian speaker, I’m excited to share my knowledge and language skills with others. Born in Italy to Indian parents, I’ve had the experience of growing up in both Italian and Indian cultures. Additionally, I’m fluent in Malayalam, a South Indian language. This diverse background allows me to connect with students from various backgrounds and create a supportive learning environment. I’m passionate about helping others succeed and am eager to share my love for the Italian language!
Hi! I am majoring in sociology with a minor in Italian. I picked up Italian classes in high school and I’m so grateful to be able to study it here as well. I was lucky enough to go to Italy for an exchange trip my junior year of high school and it was such a beautiful and immersive experience. While I am still learning as well, I truly appreciate Italian and I am here to help with speaking, writing, listening, and helping deepen your understanding and love for Italian because I believe that successful learning comes from a passion and excitement to learn! We got this!!
Ciao! I’m a major in Information Decision Science (IDS) and a double minor in Marketing and Italian. I am Nigerian, and my family and I moved to the U.S. about 10 years ago. Outside of class, I love playing tennis and badminton. I’ve always been drawn to the Italian language and culture: the rhythm of the language and the beauty of Italy itself are what first inspired me, and I hope to visit one day. As a tutor, I’m excited to support students as they build confidence, ask questions freely, and grow more comfortable using Italian. Whether you need help studying, practicing conversation, or just want encouragement along the way, I’m happy to help you on your language-learning journey!
Ciao! I’m a double-major in Criminology, Law & Justice and Political Science, with a minor in Italian & Italian American Studies. I fell in love with Italian because the community is tight-knit and I hope to travel to Italy one day. I’m excited to help students feel more confident in the language and hopefully find the same sense of community I found in Italian at UIC. I know language classes can feel intimidating at first, so my goal is to make tutoring a space where you feel supported, encouraged, and genuinely excited to try.

“I am a Biology major with an Italian minor. There is a connection between Biology and Italian – lots of Italian scientists paved the way in their fields, and there are some species whose names are derived from the Italian language. I look forward to sharing my passion for the Italian language with my peers.“
“I have a minor in both Spanish and Italian so I understand very well the struggles that come along with learning additional languages. I want to help my fellow Italian students overcome the same problems I’ve faced.”
Ciao a tutti! I’m tutoring Italian because I truly love the culture and I would love to share that love and passion with all of you. I transferred to UIC from City Colleges and I’m majoring in Biological Science with a minor in Italian, and on a pre-med track. I am Ecuadorian-Italian, and I grew up in Italy. I’m currently trilingual and taking French, so I speak four languages. I’m always excited to learn new languages and hope to learn many more in the future. I know it can be difficult to learn a new language – when I moved to the US, I knew very few words of English and I was so afraid to speak to others because I didn’t know the language. My advice: Be patient and persistent! We all struggle, but that’s the beauty of learning.

As a peer tutor I wish to share my passion for Italian, build trust among all students and make learning Italian fun and easier!
Ciao! I am a third year student majoring in Psychology with a Minor in Italian. I also work part- time for the College of Social Work here at UIC. I want to help other students to reach their goals in learning Italian, and share my passion for Italian culture and language. I chose Italian because I think it is a beautiful language. I really enjoyed learning Italian, the professors I had here at UIC made it a great experience. Ciao a tutti! I’m a 4th-year Architecture student with a minor in Italian Studies, and I also work part-time at the Flames Athletic Facility. Originally from Brazil, I’m currently living near the UIC dorms. I’m trilingual, speaking Spanish, Portuguese, and English, and I’m currently diving into Italian. With my Italian heritage and passion for the language, I’m excited to share its beauty with you all while continuing to learn more myself. Looking forward to seeing you in tutoring!
Hello! I am a Spanish major with an Italian minor in my third year at UIC. I am the first person in my family to attend college, so I understand it can be difficult trying to figure things out on your own. I understand that new languages do not come easily to everyone, so I hope that by participating in peer tutoring, I can brush up on my own language skills as well as help you to expand yours! I have attended tutoring before myself and I want to provide a friendly face for other students who are looking for a different perspective on their coursework than what might be provided in the classroom. I look forward to seeing you in an online session!

Hello, I’m from Belgrade, Serbia and am an anthropology major who’s also an Italian minor. I’m a third year student and hope to study in Italy as a graduate student. My class loads tend to be about 18-20 credit hours per semester, so I am often busy with studying, but still I find time to dedicate to being a tutor here at UIC to assist students with learning Italian. I really enjoy learning the language and I’ve come to also understand history and culture better with it.
“Being a native speaker of another romance language, I realized that while Italian grammar and language structure come rather easy to me, this might not be the case for some of my peers. Therefore, I feel that I can provide support and additional help for UIC Italian students.”
“Coming to the United States I noticed a lot of my peers struggling with finding the best approach when it comes to learning a foreign language and I am happy to have the opportunity to show UIC students some different techniques and approaches to mastering Italian.”
