LCLC Undergrad Internship Program

Only students who have completed the Peer Tutoring Apprenticeship class are eligible to apply.

The Language and Culture Learning Center’s Internship Program contributes to the academic and professional growth of upper-level language students by providing training and mentorship in language tutoring, classroom assistance, professional interactions and engagement, cultural competency, and research and project skills. Interns can receive academic credit by taking LAS 289 for a semester or a year. After completing the course, interns may work either 5 hours per week (1 credit hour) or 9 hours per week (2 credit hours) for 12-14 weeks a semester.

Upper-level students in Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Italian, and Chinese are invited to apply.

Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior academic standing preferred.

Federal Work Study and DACA students are encouraged to apply.

To be eligible, you:

  • Must be taking a course at the intermediate level or above in the language you will work with.
  • Must have completed the Peer Tutoring Apprenticeship class, a one-semester, one-credit course offered Fall and Spring semesters.

Interns will work under the supervision of LCLC Director Dr. Elizabeth Weber and LCLC staff who will oversee their work and evaluate their progress.

Interns may focus on particular projects as well as on tutoring and language classroom assistance.
